Rabbit Dream Meaning and Interpretation

Rabbit Dream Symbol –  A rabbit is the ultimate in good luck. When she visits your dreams you know there are good things on their way. Rabbit is all about manifesting abundance, being comfortable yet still retaining vulnerability. Your positive outlook on life will be rewarded. She brings messages to look within to understand that you have all you need. There is nothing more that can help you. Your intuition is strong. Follow it to nurture your development for it is your heart leading.

Rabbit also symbolizes sexuality and fertility when it hops around in your dreams. This is a strong message that will have the family you want, if this has been on your mind. A white rabbit indicates there is faithfulness in your relationship. And, seeing a black rabbit can mean there is a fear of intimacy in you or in the one you love that may cause anxiety sometime in the future.

Alternatively, a hopping rabbit can symbolize you jumping around from thing to thing, person to person. Never able to commit. Not finishing anything. And a rabbit that scratches or bites you can be warning problems in relationships need your attention.

Rabbit brings messages there may need to be more plans made in your life. You cannot just leave everything to chance. For, if you do, the chance will send results you may not want. Leave yourself open to all opportunities. Do not allow yourself to be backed into a corner. This may be a time where you have some healing to do. Take care of your physical needs to help the healing process. Seeing rabbit scratching and biting itself signifies sex and passion, male fertility, and deep love. This is a time of great passion.

When you feed a rabbit in your dreams it can mean others will try to take something that is yours. A bunny that is starving can indicate people will turn to you for help. Friendly rabbits bring messages that communication will improve with someone you love. And, a dead rabbit in your dreams, may mean you have lost your connection with a loved one or you may have to pay more attention to the relationship before all is lost.

Dreaming of a grey rabbit indicates that someone is going to trick or manipulate you into doing something you did not want involvement in. Do not be too trusting. Look deeper before committing. Consider people’s true motives. Dreaming of a rabbit hole is a message to move forward in life. There is nothing to fear. The way forward is clear.
If your dream is of you in a fairytale with a rabbit along the way, this can mean you are out of touch with reality. You have been living in the land of dreams without taking action to make them come true in your life.

You cannot always be the dreamer. You have to make decisions based on solid facts. This can also symbolize your materialistic nature at this time. You need to think about others’ feelings and not just the material things in the world. Continuing as you currently are will not bring you happiness or contentment. What is it that is important to you?

When baby rabbits hop into your life, this can mean your behaving childishly in relation to the challenges in your life right now. Everyone has problems. It is how you deal with them that matters. Consider how others form an opinion of you from your childish behavior. Is this what you want? Is this how you want the world to see you? You can choose. You have the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations with courage, grace, and strength. It is all your choice.

Dreams of eating a rabbit can symbolize you think you are better than others sometimes. This is not normal for you. Maybe you have tried to control your natural instincts to try and influence others. Maybe this did not succeed. Maybe you think you are the only one right at this time. Continue this way and you will fail. Be open to other opinions.

  1. My dream was of a wild Jackrabbit (really big ears) that had come into my backyard and was sitting on my ac unit by the hose. I went to it and asked, “where is your mom?” The jackrabbit responded, “she is dead.” I then told the jackrabbit he could stay in my yard and drink water and the jackrabbit responded “ok I need to take care of something and then I’ll be back.”
I could tell the jackrabbit was a child it was like it had a baby almost human face but it was a jackrabbit. What does this mean?

  2. I dreamt of my the love of my life who is now in a relationship with someone else setting a white rabbit free by the shore. What does it mean? We stopped talking because he got into a relationship with someone else and haven’t spoken since although I know he’s in love with me but won’t admit it cause he’s a in a relationship.

  3. I had a dream that there was a pink rabbit trying to kill me. It was famously known on the internet and there was graffiti of it’s face all around. Although it was more human sized. I could always know what the bunny was thinking. It said, “I’m going to kill, but in a way that will kill me as well.” Of course I’m still spooked beyond reason, because I’ve never thought of rabbits as scary or murderous. I know some of this information I’m sharing with you isn’t completely related to rabbits, but here it is. And sorry, this is a lot to read.
I was writing in my journal and wanted to write down the time so I asked my Alexa to tell me what time it is. (If you have an Alexa, you know it has a female voice.) It replied in this deep masculine voice and said, “It’s 200, but you only have 1 minute left.” Then it took a deep breath in as if to speak again, but I quickly unplugged it. I wrapped it in a plastic bag and hurried down stairs to my mom. It spoke once again, but was too muffled boy the bag, so I couldn’t hear it. My family didn’t believe me, so I plugged it in and tried again. It laughed in the masculine voice, but no one seemed to hear it. I asked what time it was and it replied normally. I was so furious. I asked at least 7 more times, then gave up. I got on my phone (iPhone 7) and started playing some games. All of a sudden Siri popped up and asked if it could help me with anything. I replied with a no, and it started to make this loud, scary noise. It was like it started yelling, but the louder it got, the more masculine it sounded. I dropped the phone on the couch next to me and it stopped. Then a picture of the bunny showed up. Siri said, “It’s coming for you, but don’t worry. The more you worry the worse it’s going to be.” I screamed and Siri started to show me more pictures. It was of the bunny holding a knife, with it’s…paws, or hands? I don’t know what it had. I shut the phone off and ran to my mom. She explained some creepy way of how it was going to kill me and itself. So I had to place traps so it wouldn’t kill me. My friends came over so I could tell them what was going on. Then a notification on my phone popped up. I was very cautious and opened the notification. It was from the bunny. I selected my last name and then something weird happened. It was like I was inside the internet. I see me walking out of a store with a cute dress and sunglasses on. Above the store it read, “You’re Pretty.” I didn’t understand. Apparently the bunny wasn’t going to kill me. It decided not to and so it just said I was pretty.

And that’s the end of my dream. I know it’s A LOT, but if you could help me understand this that would be great. Thank you.

    • Only you can know for SURE what this pink killer bunny dream means, but as a bystander stranger, fwiw, I’m about as sure as I can be that the bunny is one of the elements of your psyche (as in Jungian psychology: specifically I think your dream rabbit is either your shadow self or an animus). The elements of yr dream that indicate this, imo, are as follows:

      1. The rabbit is going to kill you AND itself: when we ignore aspects of our psyches, they get angry & frustrated & start acting out. They may even want to kill us, & rightly so! In ignoring them, haven’t we been trying to kill THEM? But the reality is that we can’t live without all the elements of our psyches, just as they can’t live without us. We can only repress parts of the psyche, not kill them. When we do this, they start acting out in ways that harm us or may open us to letting their traits see the light of day, so to speak. But if they’ve been repressed for many years, they are often wild, angry, messy & even dangerous. The best way is to discover these psyche elements, embrace them, accept their traits and needs & learn to express them in a mature, healthy, harmonious way.

      2. You keep trying to suffocate & ignore the rabbit in your dreams. He’s mad, now, bc you’ve probaby been ignoring him for a long time & he’s hurt. “The more you worry, the worse it will be”: the more you fear meeting this psyche element, the more you run from him. The more you run from him, the angrier he gets. The angrier he gets, the more he acts out in ways that can be destructI’ve to the WHOLE system (aka “you & [himself]”). Almost like if you insist on killing him or repressing or ignoring him (which, to him, is you trying to kill him), then he’s like “oh you’re gonna kill ME? You can’t kill me: I’m you! You ignore this but it doesn’t change the fact that if I die, we both die…so I guess we’re both gonna die, huh?”. Just be his friend instead.

      3. The “You’re Pretty”: this makes me think he’s part animus, though he could still be animus or shadow, imo…but he loves you. He wants you to love him. He IS you. This is about exploring yourself & embracing all the aspects of yourself. The kind of bluffing/idle threat nature of his whole attitude is typical, imo. He’s mad & hurt & probably undeveloped (bc you probably didn’t know he existed in order to help him mature & bloom, and the more you suffocate him, the more stunted he gets, relative to the rest of your mind)…so he lashes out all like “I’LL KILL YOU! I’LL KILL US BOTH!” & eventually, he probably WILL get self-destructive (in that he’ll start causing mental or emotional problems that trouble you & him, both: like he’ll eventually try to cause strife in retaliation & desperation), but REALLY? What he really means is “why won’t you see me? I love you. I have value & a right to exist. You don’t realize you’re hurting me, and I’m just trying to show you that. Please stop hurting me. Help me grow & contribute to the rest of the system”. But he either already tried that and you ignored it, or he’s simply too undeveloped or hurt to use those words.

Check out Jung & his theories about parts of the psyche for more understanding. Not everyone likes Jung, but imo, he’s great for dream & myth interpretation. I’ve personally had a ton of success working on myself & understanding dreams & nightmares through his framework. I hope you do, too, whatever method you choose!

  4. Margaret Mendez on

I dreamed that I took this thing out of a cage and put it in a cloth baggie. I saw another child put one in her baggie. All of a sudden I realized it was a rabbit. so I looked in my bag and it was a white rabbit with a green tail or some part of it a beautiful green color and I started worrying about how I was going to take care of it. I thought that I would get a cage and put him in it so that I would not cause too much trouble for me.

    • I dreamed of so many rabbits coming in to my yard all sizes big and small and so cute from my neighbors yard and they just kept coming then I woke up.

  5. Hi. I need help understanding my dream. The day before the dream. I was walking home and a rabbit hopped beside me, I stopped and asked it to come to me in a dream and to speak to me in a language I could understand. That night I dreamed of the rabbit, but it was attacked by the most beautiful green snake. I moved closer and watched as the snake crushed the rabbit. In the dream, I was fascinated and couldn’t look away. Does anyone have any insights to share?
