Lion Scenarios you Might Encounter

Being Chased by a Lion

lion dreamBeing chased by a lion is a common lion dream scenario. In this dream, a lion will be hunting you as you struggle to outmaneuver and outrun the lion. In most cases, it is impossible to escape the lion that is following you. You will try everything imaginable, but the lion will still be behind you.

In these dream scenarios, the lion can represent aspects of ourselves that we are trying to run away from. Maybe there is a part of you that wants to change your life, but you continue to choose the path of destruction that is affecting your relationships.

Being chased by a lion can also indicate feelings of aggression and anger that you have towards others in your life. If you have been locking up these emotions inside, they will often find their way out in your dream.

Being Attacked by a Lion

To dream that a Lion is attacking can indicate that you are headed down a path of self-destruction. There might be circumstances in your waking life that have completed overwhelmed you, making it difficult to make any progress.

If a lion bites you, it can indicate that there are people in your life that are affecting you in a very negative way. It might be time to close doors on toxic relationships that continue to “bite” you over and over. Once you say no, your wounds can start to heal after time.

Being terrified by a lion in your dream can indicate that you are aware of the problems in your life and need to address them. This is sometimes your subconscious telling you that you can no longer hide behind closed doors, you have to confront your issues.

Christian Interpretation

To most Christians, the lion represents a symbol of God. If you feel safe around the lion, it can indicate protection and a place of healing. If you have been hurt in your life, a protective lion can show the need to focus on healing those wounds. Lions are symbols of good and a representation of the power of God.

If you are running from a lion in your dream, it can indicate that you are running away from God. It might be time to analyze your life and decide if you are walking down the right path.

A lion’s roar can be telling you to beware of enemies that are conspiring against you. It could be perceived as a warning to stay on the right path in your life. In the bible, Peter compares Satan to a ‘roaring lion’ and warns of the enemy schemes that can destroy us.

  1. I was outside in my parents yard. It was lions just roaming around like they were pets! LOL! Some of them looked like regular lions, then some looked kind of strange. All of a sudden one of the lions starting chasing me. While I was running, I jumped on something that began to lift me up from the ground. The lion was still trying to catch me while I was floating. Somehow I ended up inside my grandma house, and began praying for a girl( I have no idea of who she was). The lion began to stare at me through my grandma door. Then I woke up!

  2. I saw a dream that a I was in a park sitting idly. A lion came into the park and climbed up the slide where a child was about to slide down. He was fearless just like all other innocent children are fearless. The mother of the child looked towards the child and was also not interested in the lion as she might have thought that the lion was harmless. Suddenly, the lion at once gobbled whole of the head of the child. Everybody was in fear and were running here and there. However, the lion got furious, roared and started chasing everybody else. But, astonishingly, he didn’t chase me. What does this dream imply?

  3. i had a dream that i am taking 2 sick lion to garden the one is white and the other one is normal lion after some time i saw that now i am taking 2 lioness to the same garden in the same sick and weak situation. but suddenly i saw the both lions the white and the normal one are look healthy and play-full i notice the skin of the normal lion its was thick and beautiful and lion talk to me something that i dont remember. i was hoping the both lioness should be get well soon as the lion

  5. I’ve never dreamt of lions before. In my dream I was lost and looking for directions. I got off a busy highway and ended up at what looked like an old house or maybe an old rest stop. I proceeded up a stairway where I was greeted by an old woman with only one eye. When she opened the door out of nowhere the biggest and most beautiful lion appeared. I wasn’t afraid just a little surprised to see such a beautiful and calm animal. As I proceed in again out of nowhere there he was standing right beside me. The old lady walked me to a door that led me back outside. I then noticed the old lady had several other animals that she was either housing or taking care of. I asked if I could come back to visit with the lion and other animals, she replied come back anytime.

  7. Roberta Coleman on

I dreamt that a lion was in my mind trying to attack me. So I took a knife and stabbed it twice. As it was dying I understood somehow he was jus trying to play with me like a lil kitten. But his size scared me so bad I stabbed him. I woke up feeling sad. I was sad like all day.

  8. Pranjal Dwivedi on

    • I’m no dream expert like the owner of this site. But as a christian It seems to me God is trying to pursue you. The reason why he was asleep next to you is he’s telling you that you have him watching over you. (Lion’s in the wild are very light sleepers they are always on guard) Him roaring is showing you that his words are to give you strength in the presents of others and the police appearing means he was guard (they are probably your guarding angels)

It says in the bible: For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Angels are not just Messenger but they are also Guardians and some are even God’s own police force..(Michael for example fights with the devil to protect us)

  9. I heard the idea that lion as a dream symbol can be associated with your solar plexus chakra (I might be confusing the name). Anyway, it’s the chakra that is connected to courage and willpower. So, lion can speak about that aspects of yourself and maybe something you need to work out and pay attention to. Just a food for thought.

I look over at him again ansd instead in his place is big white lion. He keeps repeating “master guide us, master teach us, master protect us, in your light we thrive, in your mercy we are sheltered, in your wisdom we are humbled, we live only to serve, our lives our yours.” He is looking up at the stars. 13. Had a dream lastnight. I was in my own house at night, I looked out of my window and a lion was roaming round. For some reason and still unclear I managed to get to my parents house. No sign of the Lion. I went to let out my dog (Yorkshire terrier) in the garden but had to quickly get her back because the Lion showed up. It managed to keep biting me but I was able to defend myself. It was powerful, male, and hard to detain. Yet sometimes I was able to grab it by its collar (?? I know wtf) and drag it outside even with it biting my hand and roaring. Absolutely shook me up. Don’t think I’ve ever been so scared.

  14. I had this dream that I was looking out over the beach, and in the distance to my right I noticed this huge male lion with a very large dark mane going in and out of the beach houses. I looked down and there was this guy laying on a beach chair showing the shape of his private part, which went down to his knee and wrapped around his thigh. I turned away and when I looked again he had pulled it out. But all of a sudden he disappeared. The next thing I knew I was walking along the beach front in front of a store and I looked to my right and there was the head and mane of the Lions, up to my shoulder. A voice spoke to me and said, Don’t Worry, Your Protected. The next thing I knew I was walking up to this brook that had a small waterfall with grey rocks in it. I looked to my right again and saw the most ugly grey bird I have ever seen in my life. I could not tell if it was a pelican or a sea gull. Then all of a sudden the Lions paw came over My right should, I turned my head to the left, closed my eyes and asked, did he get it? Did he get it? I had a dream last night that I was with my family and a beautiful small beach. We were fascinated to watch sting rays swimming in circles. We were in awe of all the animals and activities, but knew to stay out of the water. It was getting dark and knew crocodiles were also in there.
Next, we saw a cute little dolphin swimming in the mix. We were enjoying the “show” when a shark showed up. It started to harass the dolphin.
We were startled when a male lion with a full mane, charge into the water and started attacking the dolphin.
I woke up at that point.
    Just curious when it means.

  19. I dreamed last night that i was in a desserted farm of lions and huge gorillas, and i saw one gorilla escaping the farm and i dont k ow why i can see myself as that gorilla trying to escape that farm, then the lions found out that i am escaping, they chased me but fortunately i manage to escape that farm but i was terrified by those numbers of lions and gorillas and monkeys in that farm, and i end up in a man’s huge farm where theres an old huge hut for me as a gorilla, he was so nice to me, but i noticed that place is just the other side of the road where the farm i escaped from, the next scene i was inside the farm where i just escaped and im not a gorilla there but a human and i saw some of mycousins was there too, we are secretly gathering behing the concrete unfinished house or building not sure then the dominant lion spotted us and started to get aggressive and ready to eat us but we just went back to our own places and the lion started to just calm down

  20. From last week lion comes in my dreams..I try to go away but he comes and lick me..he holds me with his paws and hugs me tightly .I try to go away from him I try to escape bit all in vain..he catches me and I am under his control

  21. I had a dream I jumped into a cage with a lion feeling a sense of curiosity just to see what he would do then once he turned the corner and saw me he attacked and bit me as I tried to run away. I believe this dream is about negative people in my life bringing me down and it is completely overwhelming because these people have authority over me. I am a collegiate athlete and my coaches make me and my team feel oppressed. I was depressed in my freshman fall semester and now I’m my spring semester I just feel numb. I am a Christian and I don’t believe this means I am running away from God, I see it more as a warning.

  22. I had a dream last night that I had two lions in my house I think with intentions of having them domesticated because I wasn’t really afraid of them. However the male lion had died which I think symbolizes a past me and my lionness remained alive when I had doubted something in my dream she had grown aggressive which I think symbolizes that she was making sure I stop self doubting myself and remain strong minded on my goals. At one point after she had grown aggressive I tried to put her down and she wouldn’t back down I think this too symbolizes I have to keep going and remain strong and courageous !!

  23. Jean Brevell on

I’ve had this dream 4 times. I wake up and go into a living room and find a lion standing there then I look around and I see another one in the room. I’m scared. The next scene I’m in my vehicle or walking and there’s lions wandering around the neighborhood.

    • I have similar dreams lately. Lions walking around my neighborhood or anywhere I am walking. They really don’t pay attention to me but I do feel afraid and try to avoid them.

  24. Several dreams of lions in the past couple years. One, I was trapped under ground with a cab driver after an accident. I knew we were likely going to die, but I was helping him stay calm to save what little air we had. A lion stood above ground, marking where we were. Last night, dreamt of seeing a lion (or 2?) with snow in their miens. I wasn’t afraid of them. They had a comforting presence.

  25. I had a dream that the lion was sleeping on top of me , I couldn’t move in fear of what the lion would do and all I could think of is how to get rid of the lion because it scared me didnt know what it could do to me…. The lion seemed like it was farmiliar to me…. this is coming after a very tough week of manipulative abuse from my brother. …
