Abroad Dream Meaning and Interpretations

42

Abroad Dream Symbol – Dreams that involve travel abroad can have a number of different meanings.  If you are dreaming of a place that you have not visited, then it can suggest that you have a desire for changes to occur in your life.  It can also mean that changes are about to occur, some of which you may already know about.  For example, a recent or upcoming marriage can often cause people to dream of a different country, since the situation is new and “foreign”, even though it is something that has been planned and you will have known about for a long time.

If you are dreaming of a country that you have not been to and know nothing about, then this could suggest that there is an element of your life that you need to escape.  Think about any negative aspects of your life and how you might be able to change these for the better.  If you are aware of stress being a defining factor in your life, then your dream could simply be telling you that a holiday would be a good idea.

In the dream, if your experiences abroad were enjoyable, then there are likely to be positive changes occurring in your life soon.  If you were in a hot climate and you were in control of your own destiny within the dream, then this meaning is further reinforced, and something good is soon to happen, but it will most likely involve a change in your life.

However, if you were afraid at any point during your dream, or there were any negative experiences, then it suggests that a new beginning may be what you require, even if the thought fills you with trepidation.

Any dream featuring a foreign country suggests that changes are occurring within your life, or that they need to take place in order for you to move forward.  Think about which country you were dreaming of; if it was a place you knew, then this suggests that whatever you need to move forward and make those necessary changes is something that you already possess.  You may just need to present yourself in a different light to enable the people around you to recognize this.

Dreaming of going abroad normally means that you have been working too hard, and your mind is trying to tell you that it is time to stop and take a break.  It can also mean that you are stuck in a mundane routine and need to make some changes, particularly regarding your working environment.  Maybe it is time to consider looking for a new job, or perhaps this is something you have been considering, but have not yet made that leap and sent in an application form.  Now is the time to move forward and work towards something better.

If you are dreaming of a country that you have previously visited, particularly if you have lived or worked there, then you need to think about how you felt during that time, and what you especially enjoyed of the country.  The dream suggests that you need to rediscover these feelings.

  2. Hello I’m from Ghana and named Desmond.
I had this Dream where I was in a foreign country. And in the dream, it started when I was in a big hall with a lot of students in there where we are ready to learn.. A teacher entered and held a white student’s hair and told her its bushy.. He held mine after holding the girl’s and also told me same. After he help my ear and moved it as a way of punishing me.. After this, a girl sitting behind me told me there were some particles around my ears.. I had this guy who sat right beside me and I asked him about the country I was in and I woke up from the dream

  3. Can anyone interpret my dream? I had a dream that I met a lady who said “let’s travel now”, I replied “okay let’s go, where are we going?” and she said “Algiers for 3 weeks”, I thought yes, work can wait and started to drive to the airport with her taking nothing but the clothes we were wearing, I feel happy and kissed her a couple of times.

    Thanks Tim

  4. Let me preface my dream by saying that I have been extremely depressed caused by discord with a certain family member who is volatile and tends to cause discord due to mental health issues. That being said my dream:
I need to go to Korea (somewhere I’ve never been and have no inclination to visit) for a job. I leave and travel on a bus (public transit) with a child (boy). Upon asking the bus driver where she goes and if she can take to somewhere I can find inexpensive lodgings. She says she can drop me off in the African section of the city.

I’m then dropped off and realize this is not where I need to be, that I should have taken an airplane. I start asking people what bus takes me to the airport and I’m told the number 1 bus will take me back into town. As I wait for the bus the child who seems to be my son is dressed nicely with a bow tie is eating grapes which stains his nice shirt. Someone nearby comments on this and I chuckle and say it will wash out.

I woke up at around this point. But the first part of the dream (about trying to go to Korea and being taken to the ‘African’ part of town) really resonates with me and I can’t shake it even after being awake for hours.

  5. I had a dream that my boyfriend and I were visiting France (I mentioned France but where we were at the time in the dream most of the men were dressed in robe-like clothes and some wore turbans, i wasnt told specifically but knew I was expected to cover my hair, the covering was beaded and gorgeous and I believe I was wearing a sari, I felt like a princess) also I wasn’t hearing a lot of French being spoken and I distinctly remembered recognizing Arabic (or something similar) in the dream. It was great dream I was enjoying everything about it.

I recently visited Italy and Greece and few months ago and I keep having dreams about going back to Italy. I’ve had 5 dreams now and in the dreams I keep going on tours.
Also, for some reason this is a duplicate comment, but this is the first time I mentioned these dreams, online.

  9. I had a dream that I was getting ready to go to Mexico with a girl that I’ve been spending time with a lot. We have no sexual relations at all. It wasn’t even my girlfriend that I had the dream about. I still spend most of my time with her. It’s just that when she is busy, I spend time with this other girl who just happens to be a good friend. She wanted to go to a different country with me and we spent a lot of time preparing.

  10. What about dreaming you are in a foreign country (don’t know where), but not where you should be – a few train stations from where you should be? Or being in a foreign country, but speaking a language spoken in a country close to that one? Both countries you have been before

  11. I dreamt of being lost in China and could not rush back to my home country. Felt really upset in the dream. As I thought I am unable to rush back the next day to work what could it mean
